To keep our customers, volunteers and staff safe, we are not able to accept private food donations at this time. We appreciate all that our neighbors are doing to help us through the dramatic increase in demand for food.
We keep a running list of items that we could use in the Food Pantry. Once it comes from the Amazon warehouse we are able to let it sit for a few days to safely handle it in the Pantry.
Lunch Equity Project
Thanks to a dedicated group of Needham residents, the Lunch Equity Project is raising funds to support both the Needham Community Council Food Pantry and the Needham Community Farm. Both agencies work together to meet the food insecurity needs in our community.
Cans for Calcium
Turn your returnable cans and bottles directly into milk for the Food Pantry! Needham resident, Jeff Dinneen collects recyclable cans & bottles from the Needham RTS, returns them for the deposit and uses the funds to purchase milk.
Your may either drop off at the Needham RTS or
directly at his home at the end of his driveway –
1625 Great Plain Ave available 24/7.
As of March, 2021 Jeff (and his team) have collected/recycled more than 500,000 cans & bottles!
Your money goes farther with us than at the grocery store. For every dollar you contribute, we are able to purchase over $3 worth of food from the Greater Boston Food Bank. Because we are unable to accept donations, our food expenses have increased by over 300% so any financial donations help us manage the significant increase in food needs.
Buy a box for yourself and donate one directly to the Council. Each week we purchase over 70 produce boxes for our customers. Help us offset some of this cost by purchasing a box directly from Katsiroubas and they will deliver it directly to us.
